Industrial Design Development Association of Taipei (IDDAT) / Chairman
Shawn Lee, Chairman of the Industrial Design Development Association of Taipei (IDDAT), specializes in Transportation Design and brings with him a deep foundation in industrial design.
Early in his career, he worked with Taiwanese automobile brand Luxgen, focusing on both interior and exterior vehicle design. His time in the industry allowed him to accumulate extensive practical experience and develop a versatile design mindset.
After leaving the corporate world, Shawn founded In Motion Design Co., Ltd., offering professional services in transportation and industrial design, later expanding into multimedia and animation, exploring new intersections between design and visual communication.
As the founder of In Motion Space, Shawn promotes the philosophy “Everything flows; nothing stands still”—advocating for creativity that is fluid and unbounded. He believes that in a constantly changing world, every meaningful moment deserves to be cherished, and creators should take that as a driving force to innovate and sustain creative vitality.
In Motion Space serves as a friendly platform for emerging artists, enabling the free flow of ideas and artworks, and driving the advancement of design and art through openness and innovation.
Since 2015, Shawn has been dedicated to design education and currently teaches Transportation Design at the Department of Industrial Design, Huafan University. He emphasizes the importance of thought and action in the design process, advocating an educational philosophy of “not creating for the sake of creating” and “moving toward purpose, not just outcomes.”
His teaching focuses on nurturing a new generation of designers equipped with critical thinking and hands-on execution skills.
Understanding how vital a professional stage is for creators, Shawn is a strong advocate for promoting Taiwan’s cultural and creative power as well as its emerging design brands on the global stage.
Through the “Flash Point” platform, he showcases outstanding Taiwanese design. At the same time, he realizes the “In Motion” spirit through both In Motion Design and In Motion Space, keeping art and design in continuous movement and infusing momentum into Taiwan’s creative future.
