Saranya Siangarom

Assistant Professor Saranya Siangarom is an academic and designer with integrated expertise in industrial design, social innovation, and the creative economy. Currently serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Chulalongkorn University, she also holds leadership roles as Deputy Head of the Center of Excellence in Social Design and as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Industrial Design.

Her academic journey spans both local and international institutions, including a Master’s degree in Design from the University for the Creative Arts in the UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design (Second-Class Honors) from Chulalongkorn University. She has also completed several leadership and policy-focused programs.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, Assistant Professor Saranya has led and collaborated on numerous national research projects, particularly in the areas of community- based design, creative tourism, and sustainable innovation. Her research—funded by prominent national agencies—positions design as a strategic tool for enhancing local economies, urban development, and tourism, as well as for cultivating vocational skills and promoting inclusive, sustainable growth. She has authored and co-authored influential guidebooks on community branding, creative design processes, and festival design for community development. In addition to her research, she holds design patents and copyrights and has served as a consultant to various governmental and public-sector organizations. She is also an active contributor to national policy initiatives, with public service roles that include advisory and committee positions related to social enterprise, and cooperative development.

Assistant Professor Saranya Siangarom continues to play a pivotal role in advancing interdisciplinary collaboration, driving innovation in design education, and fostering Thailand’s creative and sustainable development.
