An engineered overhead safety product for the protection of underground Miners from falling rock. Researched,developed and validated over 20 years in mining industry. Safety figures from Zimplats Mine Zimbabwe have reflected its effectiveness and efficiency in the prevention of injury and loss of life from falling rock. Created by John Bourke, Irish Inventor. Present status - government inspectors are preparing to pass legislation, making the Rockshield Workstation mandatory in the mining industry in Zimbabwe and South Africa.Used for manual scaling loose rock,also used for mine rescue

As a supplier to the mining industry I came to know of the injuries and deaths caused by falling rock in 2004 I was shocked that this was accepted in the industry,so as I did research realised there was no engineered product to address this safety issue. I set out on endeavour to design product to address protection of miners from falling rock.Research started in October 2004. First official launch March 2013.History tells us that from innovation from legislation can take 20 years and more and looks like our venture is no different
