Stummer Diener - R50

The Stummer Diener, also known as valet stand, is a traditional and rather old-fashioned piece of furniture on which men's clothing was placed. In order to challenge this dusty cliché, this reinterpretation of the valet stand combines a clothing rack with a bench, making it a versatile addition for narrow corridors and dressing rooms. Jackets and shirts can be hung on the central strut or placed directly on the shoulder-shaped module. Inspired by 1930s tubular steel furniture, this piece merges classic design with traditional craftsmanship.

Bio With a background in craftsmanship, Marvin Kasper developed a passion for design early on. He studied product design to explore innovative ideas and blends traditional materials and techniques into creative solutions. Since 2021, he's been pursuing a master's degree at the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy to deepen his design expertise. He's also engaged in the Design Networking Hub of the German Design Museum Foundation, fostering cross-cultural collaboration between Kenyan and German designers. His journey melds traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, to craft inventive solutions.
