Ophelia is a doll that dies. She is made out of biodegradable and compostable materials that degrade over time with play, representing death and decay. Ophelia serves as a tool for starting a conversation between parents and children about the end of life. Children who own Ophelia will have the opportunity to develop a belief that talking about death is normal. When a person talks about death they begin to understand the impermanence of life, and are more likely to prepare for their own ending, setting the stage for a less stressful ending, as well as a more appreciated and fulfilled life.
