Tragedy of the Commons

Now. Me. More. Faster. These are the values embedded in the products of today satisfying our most instant needs. Our design objective was to shift these values to reflect the needs of a collective. The result: a wobbly coat rack and a light without an off switch. The project is named "Tragedy of the Commons" and addresses the social dilemmas involved with this economic failure. Can design encourage more thoughtful behavior in our everyday routines? We embraced a combination of Bauhaus and Memphis style of design for these objects to reflect the playful and honest nature of the project.
