The Re-Lax urban bench and chair are made of discarded polyester felt and polyester belts. The felt is sourced from the Slovenian company Filc d.o.o. More than 1,500 tons of unused material that is not up to standard is incinerated annually. Through the process of thermoforming, felt is remanufactured into plastic panels which serve as the main hard construction part. Some 21 tons of polyester belts are thrown away in the Slovenian Port of Koper each year. In the Re-Lax bench and chair, they serve as a seating surface with no additional processes applied. They are reused the way they are.
