This project is a solution for preventing CLABSI infections in long term hospital care. A CVC (Central Venous Catheter) is a device used for continuous access to the vascular system that is accessed 4-10 times per day to administer injections and draw blood. The CLABSI infection is a major issue in hospitals that may prolong a patients stay, cause long term health issues, and potentially cause death. The Catheter Castings project is a solution that seals off the tube of the CVC with an affordable and replaceable wax casting in order to prevent foreign bacteria from entering the patient's body.
