Lēvyr (liːvə) is a photovoltaic carbon dioxide monitor powered entirely by light energy harvested from indoor lighting. Developed in conjunction with the Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials at Swansea University, the device is intended for use within working environments such as offices. High levels of CO2 can lead to poor decision making, slower reaction times, and increased tiredness among employees. Lēvyr has been designed to maximise exposure to ceiling light when fixed to a wall. The onboard CO2 sensor takes live air quality readings and displays this via a desktop application.
