Germans use 2.8 billion coffee cups every year – and they get thrown away. Most of the cups are made out of disposable plastic, which preserves the coffee from spilling over. Refillable and reusable cups are becoming more and more a thing, but they are still an exception. So why not design a lid that fits on every cup. The lid converts every cup that is already in existence intro a “to- go” cup. The resource- saving attribute about this lid is: The cup does not have to be produced, the lid can be use over and over again. If this gets established, huge savings are possible.

Bio
My name is Carina Frings (26) and I am studying sustainable Design at Ecosign Academy in Cologne. In my opinion, the necessity of sustainable product design is up to establish useful, appropriate for the material involved and socially equitable products.

Trade your disposable for reusable cups, for the love of the environment!
