The Biome couch is a sustainable solution to
the life-cycle problems facing the furniture
industry. The focus of the project was primarily
material innovation, attempting to address the
sustainability threats posed by furniture
production and disposal. In addition to
materials the design also sought sustainable
longevity through portability and simple styling;
understanding that furniture is often thrown
away due to owners moving and changes in
stylistic trends.
