This April, the European Product Design Award (EPDA) participated in the Global Sources Hong Kong Shows, one of Asia’s leading events for design and innovation. The collaboration highlighted EPDA’s ongoing mission to connect and celebrate outstanding product design from around the world.

In partnership with the Best of Innovation Awards, EPDA co-hosted a special prize—the Best Product Design Awards—recognizing exceptional achievements in creativity, usability, and innovation. Through this collaboration, EPDA not only celebrated top-tier design talent but also strengthened its presence within one of the most influential platforms in the industry.
EPDA’s partnership with Global Sources ensured a dedicated stage slot during the event, offering an exclusive opportunity for EPDA winners, jury members, and partners to share their insights and expertise. This space fostered meaningful dialogue between emerging and established designers, creating an inspiring environment for knowledge exchange.

Phygital: Interaction Design in Home Appliances
Marco De Carolis, Design Director at Habits’ Bangkok office, was among the featured speakers at the Global Sources Summit. In his talk titled “Phygital: Interaction Design in Home Appliances,” Marco explored how the convergence of physical and digital design transforms everyday experiences, inviting participants to rethink the emotional and technological dimensions of contemporary product design.
Marco leads design initiatives and contributes to the company’s most innovative projects. Habits, founded in 2004 by Innocenzo Rifino and Diego Rossi in Milan, is an industrial design studio with extensive international experience. Its multidisciplinary team includes industrial designers, engineers, model makers, interaction and visual designers, and architects. The studio’s work spans digital products, home appliances, industrial equipment, lighting, IoT, UX interaction, and interfaces, with headquarters in Milan and an additional office in Bangkok.
Through collaborations like this, EPDA continues to build bridges between creative excellence and industrial innovation — offering designers a global platform to showcase their work, inspire new ideas, and shape the future of design together.
