Historically, benches were the common seat form while chairs were exclusively reserved for the most important among us (where the term, “chairman” originates). Celebrating proudly its humble function, Duchess’ fabric covering is unexpectedly made from band-aids. Teasing the eye, the bandages weave into a mosaic of color and depth that compliments the classically elegant, yet contemporary form hand-carved from Sapele lumber. Purposely designed with non-standard dimensions, the Duchess allows a broader range of use from the bedroom to the entryway.
