When creating products for visually impaired individuals, their emotional needs are often overlooked. Research has shown that having a companion such as dogs can help reduce negative emotions.

MAGAMATE is an innovative solution that enhances the independence and quality of life for visually impaired individuals in Hong Kong and beyond. MAGAMATE is a handheld device for the visually impaired that acts as a companion which guides them as they explore the world around them. With the lack of guide dogs in Hong Kong, MAGAMATE is not intended to replace but serves as a temporary substitute.
