The Sampling Earring is a lightweight stainless steel earpiece designed to grip small objects. The “samples” refer to any object that can decorate the human body – be it a fallen leaf, a dewy flower, a found object, or an inherited jewel; these objects are discreetly held by the earring and displayed as unique adornment.

The earring does not seek to make a statement of itself as jewellery; rather, it celebrates the functionality of mechanical design that can provide the framework for personalised creative expression.

Bio Merging design with an ever-evolving passion for hands-on fabrication and material exploration, in 2015, Aimilios Davlantis Lo began building his prototyping studio during his bachelor of architecture studies at the Cooper Union in New York City. The studio moved to Cambridge, MA, where he attended Harvard’s Graduate School of Design MArch II program, followed by two years of professional architecture practice. In 2021, together with his wife, Yuqiao Guo, architect, painter and founder of Matter at Hand, relocated to London, UK, where his endeavours grew to what is now Minor Detail.
